“ Best. Cheesesteak. Ever. What I liked... - amazing cheesesteak (meat, copper cheddar, garlic spread, and sesame seeded bread) - huge portions - easily enough for 2, maybe 3 or 4 depending on appetite - friendly service -enjoyed the music volume and selections What I would change... -would prefer Coke products on the fountain, but at least they had them in cans -basic theme/decor. Feels like no work or thought into it. But does it really matter for a quick lunch spot? Not really. ”
“ greatest service a restaurant has ever given, your not a customer here you are family and they make it known. Amazing food that compliments the service perfectly. ”
“ Haven't tried the pizza, but a friend told me to try their cheesesteaks. They were tasty and generous sized portions. The bread was hearty and didn't get soggy from the cheese sauce. Called in the order ahead and it was ready right on time. ”

“ Lillo's Tomato Pies (2503 Marne Highway Hainesport NJ) is in the middle of nowhere. Lillo's is about 90 minutes' drive from me. Yet the love for Trenton Style Tomato Pie brings the people from all over to Hainesport NJ. Let us first address the elephant in the room. Trenton Tomato Pie (like New Haven Tomato Pie) is a pizza; Philly Tomato Pie is like a Focaccia with tomato gravy (yes gravy not sauce, Philly Words Matter). Consequently, Trenton Tomato Pie is made with pizza dough; Philly Tomato Pie is made with a bread dough. Trenton Tomato Pie typically has cheese, whereas Philly Tomato Pie has a slight dusting of finely grated Parmesan (but essentially dairy free). Trenton Tomato Pie is eaten hot out of an oven. Philly Tomato Pie is eaten cold at room temperature. Yes, Trenton Tomato Pie is not Philly Tomato Pie, they are two different things. Trenton Tomato Pie is assembled with the Tomato on the top (typically just crushed tomato). The cheese is closest to the dough, next a layer of vegetable/meat toppings, and finally Tomato. From a flavor perspective, compared to other pizzas, the Trenton Tomato Pie emphasizes Tomato flavor. The Mustard Pie version of Trenton Tomato Pie, unique to the greater Trenton region, a contribution of New Jersey to the world of pizza, has a layer of mustard on the dough and everything else thereafter on the top of it. Yes, here too, Tomato on the top. Lillo's is an offshoot of Papa's Tomato Pie (the oldest Pizza joint in America). The dough is crisp without much flop. It is different. You will talk about it after eating one of their pies. The pies are outstanding. The mustard pie is worth a trip. Lillo's along with Papa's, and DeLorenzo (add Conte's too) represent the best of pizza in the Princeton / South Jersey area. But as amazing as the pies are, the best reason, my reason, to goto Lillo's is their cheese steak in a Liscio like seeded roll (perhaps the roll is from Liscio). The cheese, the secret garlic sauce and 16 oz of sliced rib eye is amongst the best cheese steak ever. Just half of the sandwich is plenty for a meal. On the list of "The Joys of Single Living", eating a cold, left-over Lillo's cheesesteak sandwich (right out of the fridge) ranks higher than eating a cold slice of pizza (out of the fridge) for breakfast. No reheating, no microwave, all net no rim. A cold left over half cheesesteak sandwich for breakfast next morning, life is good. Again, I need to point out that with Lillo's, Donkey's Place, and MeatheadZ, that area of NJ has some really awesome cheese steak sandwich options. ”
“ HAINESPORT: famous for their tomato pies and cheesesteaks, Lillo's Tomato Pies has been an institution in the area for the last 3 years! They are so well known that even David Portney of Barstool Sports and One Bite fame reviewed their pizza and gave it an 8.4 rating! Their cheesesteak was given a 9.1 rating. They were also recently voted the "6th Annual Greater Philadelphia Beautiful Cheesesteak Champion!" At the recommendation of our follower, Paul K., we visited to see what the buzz is all about and it is definitely worth the hype. The place was packed when we went inside to order and they are known for selling out because of how popular they are. The cheesesteak and pizza are excellent and they also offer hoagies, sandwiches, hot dogs, and salads. They have dog friendly outdoor seating on the side of the building and you can order take out and enjoy at a nearby brewery. The family that owns the restaurant seem like exceptional folks and went through tragedy in April with the passing of one of the owners, Lisa. The restaurant paid back to the community with a giveaway of 300 cheesesteaks to thank them for the support during the difficult time. 2 new locations are coming soon... ”
“ Lillo's is known for their Trenton style pie. If you haven't had one before you must try it. They are also known for their cheesesteaks. They are the BEST with that magical garlic sauce or whatever it is they put on them. I recommend eating in or very close by, the roll won't hold up if you are driving more than 15 minutes away with all the cheese and garlicky goodness. ”
“ I've heard non stop ranting and raving about the cheesesteaks and how amazing they are. My opinion is just that. I want to be honest. I ordered a 18" tomato pie and cheesesteak with fried onions on their online ordering site. I live 20 mins from the shop. So after 40 mins is when I actually ate the food. I'm being fair that I did not eat it right when it was cooked. With that being said the sandwich was completely soaked in cheese and grease. The steak meat was large chunks and a little tough. The cheese was melted and the onions were large chunks as well. The flavor was good. I'd rank this one like I did Donkeys. I don't like thick chunks of meat. I like it chopped well and the onions chopped smaller. They don't skimp on meat by any means but you are paying $22 for a 12" sandwich. I'd have to try it fresh when it's not a mess. The tomato pie was good but it was a little burnt on the bottom. I liked the sweet sauce. Overall, I'd have to say it's not going to be a place I'd be a regular. To those who enjoy it that's all that matters at the end of the day. My all time favorite cheesesteak has to be Steve's Steaks in the Northeast and Dalessandros in Roxborough/Manyunk. This is why I love Yelp,so many options in the Philly/SNJ area. *UPDATE* After eating 4 slices we noticed a fly cooked into a slice. I wasn't going to bitch about the amount of flies in this establishment when we picked up the food but there were tons. Make sure you check your food before eating. ”
“ Had lillo on my radar for quite some time! I tried a cheesesteak. Everybody has their own take when it comes to the best cheesesteak so i tend to not really listen to others. To me, its about the quality of the bread/meat (yes we can tell when you use poor quality), the ratio meat to bread (can't have it too sloppy) and meat to cheese. The meat was high quality, the bread, although not my favorite, was also fresh and good quality. They had the perfect ratio! The place is pretty small and they are pretty busy. Given how often the door is opened/closed, they were a lot of flies in the store however not enough to prevent me from enjoying my food. I was only able to eat half of it! So full Overall, great food option and can't wait to go back to try the pizza ”
